PHOT SCANNING

I updated to iOS 10 last night, and clicked on my photos. When I went on "Memories", it started scanning my library and then suddenly stopped and stayed on that scanning screen until tonight. Now it's scanned only 1/4 of my photos. When I click on the "Faces" album it tells me: "1.580 Photos Scanned, To finish scanning your remaining 3.596 photos, lock your iPhone and connect it to power.". It's already connected to power and I've locked it a few times and nothing happens. Does anyone know how I can get it to scan the remainder of my photos?

I only have 247 photos and iPhone 6 is stuck on #36 for over an hour! Something has to be wrong.....

At least you have over 1,000 photos scanned. I am stuck at 56 photos with 12,425 remaining after 24 hours and being plugged in overnight. Sooooo slow. Anyone else having an extraordinarily slow scanning process?

I'm using a 5s if that matters.

I had this issue and decided to try turning iCloud Photo Library off and on again. After that was done, my photos finally started scanning. I don't know if this will fix it for everyone, but it worked for me

Case closed. One of the replies below said, "Turn off icloud sharing and turn it back on again."

24 hours later.... iPhone 6 is only on photo # 43 of 247 !!!! Seriously....?
